Road Trip 2023 was a class taken during spring break, where we were 11 people + the professor in a van from San Francisco CA to Corvallis OR taking the coastal highways over the span of 6 days and completing certain photo orientated tasks, as well as taking photos overall.
I kept up a journal and to remember what happened and how was I feeling so I can compare it later to how I remember everything and compare how my perception of the trip has changed over time.
This page contains all of my submitted work for the class.
While on the road trip we were tasked to take portraits of both strangers and others on the trip. But instead of just asking "May I take your photo" we had to engage in conversation and understand more about them, and attempt to showcase that in the photos.
Another task of the trip was to take photos of the different places we visited.
Along the way we had to document the journey. I took photos of others on the trip and their shenanigans, and I also documented each place we spent the night at.
My final of the road trip consisted of an impromptu photoshoot with a Canon EOS ELAN 7 and a 15mm fisheye lens on color film.
I wasn't going for a fully immersive look but something that combines old with new, something that makes you think it is 30 years old, but doesn't lack a modern Mac.
